When it comes to Oriental New Star our restaurant type is quite simply Chinese takeaway. And we say simply with pride, as all of our signature dishes are as authentic to Chinese cuisine as possible. From the moment you reach our appetizers you can see a wide variety of Spring Rolls, pastries like Wan Ton, and a wide selection of Prawns to make sure your mouth is watering by the time the main course arrives. And for the main course, we have even more options, a Soup can be a great option you won't find in other places, like out Hot and Sour soup that combines 2 elements iconic to Chinese cuisine, and our Thai Tom Yam Kai that combines coconut and chicken for an experience unlike any other. If you want one of our specialities however then our Special Chicken is definitely the star, coated and cooked in BBQ sauce alongside other spices it's an explosion of flavour unlike any other. Our Chicken Teri Yaki, on the other hand, is sweeter making for a great contrast between the sauce and meat. And if you are in doubt a Roast Duck can always be a great pick.

Oriental New Star is a traditional Chinese cuisine experience. What this largely means is that we offer a wide variety of traditional Chinese dishes and not the most popular ones that appear on most takeaways. While you will find fried rice in our menu you will also see less common dishes like our soups and Won Tons. We are currently located in the Portarlington area, on Main Street, County Laois; to be more specific we are currently located in Matthews Courtyard Main Street Portarlington Co Laois. This places us right in front of the Bank of Ireland, and very close to the Portarlington Leisure Centre, making it an easy location to both find and visit, as the roads are rarely that busy. However takeaway is still a huge part of our service, so remember that both delivery and pick-up are available online through our site and official app, Chunky Chicken, available both on Google Play and Apple's App Store.
